Ms. Wanner Gerald was born to the late Paul Avery Gerald and Gladys Watson Gerald on May 19, 1946, in Robeson County, North Carolina. She entered eternal peace on June 23, 2020.
Wanner attended public schools in Robeson County. She graduated from Saint Paul's High School. She continued to further her education to obtain an array of certifications.
She joined Pleasant View Baptist Church at an early age. Upon relocating to Massachusetts, she attended Holy Tabernacle Church. She was a faithful member of the Holy Tab Senior Choir and a staff member of the Food Pantry Committee. Her favorite song was "I Want to Walk and Talk Like Jesus."
She was employed at J. Baker Corporation as an associate in the Human Resources Department. She continued her employment journey working for the Federal Government as a Fingerprint Technician until she retired.
Wanner was known to many as “Aunt Wanda.” She was caring, had a big heart and always put God first. Wanner always answered the phone “Praise the Lord, and ended the conversation with “Love you baby.” Wanner was never known to sugarcoat anything and always told you what you didn’t want to hear but what you needed to hear.
Wanner was preceded in death by her parents, her sister; Brenda Jean Gerald, and her four brothers; Harlton Gerald, Lee Avery Gerald, Olive Gerald, and Rev. Josh Gerald.
She leaves to cherish her memories; (two sisters), Mary Gerald, and Linda Smith; (four brothers), Earl Gerald (Edna), Doug Gerald, Thurman Gerald, Gregory Gerald and sister-in-law Minister Linda Gerald all of Lumberton, North Carolina and brother-in-law Erwin Leviner of Rockingham, North Carolina. Special cousins Bonell Watson (Sherry), Jerone Watson (Helen) and nephew Dwight Smith (Felicia) all of Boston, Massachusetts. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
