Ms. Tawanta Renee (Powell) Blue

     Tawanta Renee Powell Blue of Lumberton, NC born December 22, 1971 to Alice Powell McCollum and the late James C. Williams in Charlotte. NC. She was also raised by the late Malcolm McCollum. She gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday July 18, 2023 in Wilmington, NC.

     Tawanta graduated from Fairmont High School. She later attended Brookstone College with a degree in accounting.

     Tawanta always exhibited strength, perseverance, generosity, and a heart of gold. She remained faithful through hard trials and tribulations. She loved her church and remained a faithful, and active member until her health declined.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her loving and devoted mother, Alice Powell McCollum of the home, one beautiful daughter, Shimeka Blue of the home, two sisters, Stephanie Jones of Charlotte, NC; and Tameka Powell Bethea (Shawn) of Mebane, NC; two brother, James C. Robinson of Charlotte, NC; and Shyman Dew of Raleigh. NC; five nephews, Quan and Kareem Bethea of Mabane, NC; Micah and Matthew Robinson of Charlotte, NC; and K’mari Mingledorf of Charlotte, NC; one niece, Shaniqua Horstead (Maurice) of Charlotte, NC; two great-nephews, Bryson Horstead from Charlotte, NC; and Amir White of Mebane, NC; one great-niece, Brielle Horstead of Charlotte, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
