Ms. Shirley A Dortch

     Ms. Shirley Ann Dortch (Shyanna), 73, of Lumberton, was born on November 9, 1947 to the late Emma Lee Campbell and John Dortch. She transitioned from time to eternal rest on January 4, 2021 with her loving family by her side.

     She received her early years of education in the Public Schools of Robeson County. She also sang on the choir. She joined Stoney Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She was first baptized in 1998 and then moved to Horace Grove and loved to sing on the choir until her health declined. Shirley was a member of Horace Grove Baptist Church until she wasn’t able to walk. She loved gospel music and that was her hobby. Her favorite singer was Debra Snipes.

     She was preceded in death by a special companion of many years, Dizzy Dean Lewis, Emma Lee Campbell, Ruby Mitchell, Rosa Lee Dortch, John Jay Dortch, William Dortch, John L. Dortch, Jame A. Dortch, Margie Alford and Eugene Dortch.

     She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her two loving daughters, Jacqueline Dortch and Connie E. Dortch both of Lumberton, NC; three sons, Glenn A. Dortch (Shelia) and Anthony Dortch both of Lumberton, NC and Tyrone D. Dortch (Melissa) of Fairmont, NC, she was blessed with four grandchildren, Tatyana Dortch, Aiden Dortch, Desting Dortch and Naheem Mcleod, three sisters, Helen Scott (Rev. Robert) and Carrie Mitchell of Lumberton, NC and Willimae Dortch of Charlotte, NC, three brothers, Tommy Dortch of Atlanta, GA, Ronnie L. Dortch (Patricia) of Lumberton, NC and David Dortch of New York, special nieces, Michelle Dortch, Mae Pearson, Sheryl Pearson, Betty Alford and Emily Mitchell, special nephews, Robert Scott (Ted), Albert Alford Jr. and Aaron Mitchell, four step grandchildren, Yasmine Rose, Shalonta McClellon, Felicia Williams, Andrew Williams, Corchelle Winslow and Teal Edwards and a host of other relatives and friends.
