Peggy Sue Bullock-Warren was born on June 16,1957 to Mabie and Willie Archie (RP) Bullock
in Fairmont, NC. She departed this life at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center on December 16, 2020.
Peggy grew up in Fairmont, NC. She was the middle child of ten, very playful and often played
tricks on her younger siblings. Peggy was fun loving; and looked forward to family gatherings and
family reunions. She was a talented artist and seamstress. She loved to travel and online shopping
was her favorite past-time. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mill Branch
Baptist Church, Fairmont, NC, where she was a member of the Mill Branch Junior Choir and
served as a member of the Baptist Training Union.
Peggy attended Rosenwald Elementary School and Fairmont High School, graduating in 1975.
After graduating she attended Southeastern Community College where she received her
Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She continued her education at Johnson C.
Smith University, Charlotte, NC where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Math and Education,
in 1983.
Peggy was an extremely proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and a member of the Order
of the Eastern Star and Elmira Azema Court #2000, Daughters of the Imperial Court Inc.
She united in holy matrimony to Johnny Lee Warren who preceded her in death.
Peggy was employed as a Math Teacher at Charlotte Mecklenburg County School System for 26
years. She was often called upon to accept challenges that seemed unachievable. One other
proudest moments was when she completely turned around the underperforming student math
scores to meet and exceed the national standardized level. She received many mathematical
awards for her excellent teaching skills.
In 2011, she relocated to Hope Mills, NC and continued her teaching career with Cumberland
County School System. Peggy’s passion was teaching and she continually excelled by going above
and beyond to insure her students met requirements to advance to the next level of higher
learning. She was presented an Esteemed and Gratitude Sendee Award for her accomplishments
upon her retirement in July 2014.
Peggy received her golden wings and entered into eternal rest on December 16, 2020. She leaves to
