It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Merian Demetrius Jones, 70 years old on April 4, 2025. Merian Jones was born July 15, 1954, and her vibrant spirit touched the hearts of all who know her.
Merian was a devoted and a beloved friend to many. Her love and dedication to her family were unmatched, and she always put the needs of others before her own. Her warmth, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to call her a loved one. Merian attended Fayetteville State University pursuing a degree in nursing. Merian passions included singing, fishing, cooking, and babysitting. She had a heart full of love and compassion, and she leaves behind an enduring legacy of generosity and strength.
Merian was preceded in death by her mother Minnie Lee Williams, grandmother, Betty Jones, and sister, Claudine Jones.
She is survived by her son, Antron Jones (Lachelle), five grandchildren, Akeyha Jones, Kya Jones, Diamond Jones, Zakaria Woods, and Zaiden Jones, and five great-grandchildren, brothers, Allen Jones of Auroro, Colorado; Ronald Williams of Charlotte, NC; and Claude Jones of Fairbanks, Alaska; seven nieces, Cathy, Sonja, Jessica, Anne, Amy, Mineta, Zatoya, and Kamaya, five nephews, Jerome, Everette Jr., Kristopher, Claud Jr., and Kameron. A special thanks to Ms. Sheila Townsend for all the help that you provided for her. Merian D. Jones will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
