Ms. Marie (Thompson) Lester

     On Sunday, March 19th, 2023, God called his angel home.

     Ms. Marie Lester, 86, was born to the late Alford and Jenny Leach Thompson in Robeson County, NC.

     Ms. Marie married Masco Lester in Marion, SC.  She was a childcare provider for over 50 years. She was also known to many as “Aunt Mamie.”

     She was a devoted mother of her children as well as an ordained mother of the church. She sung in the choir and was a Nurses Aid. She was a faithful member of the church until her health failed.

     She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Alford and Jenny Thompson; her husband, Masco Lester, her children, Wanda & James Lester, Frances Pierce; six brothers, J.P., Ira, William, Charlie, Kevin, and Fred Thompson

    Marie leaves to cherish her love & memories: two sons, Carl Lee Thompson, Kenneth Lester (Patricia); three daughters, Loretta Moore (Deacon Fredrick), Dorothy Moore (Bishop Jerry), and Edna Lester; son-in-law, Bishop Shepard Pierce; sister-in-law, Doretha Thompson; 15 Grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special grands (Precious & Trinity Murray); a special niece Coletha Campbell; 4 sisters, Maxine Mclean, Lula Mae Davis, Arnetha Davis and ArJean Clark.
