Lula Mae McNeill was born on January 1, 1939 in Lumberton, NC to the late Deacon Ben Evans and Deaconess Ida Evans. On November 14, 2020 she transitioned and was called to eternal rest.
She received her education from the Public Schools of Robeson County. At an early age she joined First Baptist Church of Lumberton, under the leadership of the late Dr. E.B. Turner. She was employed at the Holiday Inn of Lumberton for 18 years .
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, her husband the late Daniel McNeill, one son, Ronnie Evans, five daughters, Doris Sawyers, Gloria Mason, Gail Evans Barfield, Susan McNeill and Gloria McNeill who all were of Lumberton.
She leaves to cherish her happy memories to Mahalia Evans of the home, Caroline McNeill and Mary Hawkins of Lumberton, NC and Doretha McNeill of Atlanta, GA; four sons, Anthony McNeill of West, VA; Russell Evans of Hollywood, FL; Arthur McNeill of Lumberton, NC and Daniel McNeil of Miami, FL, several grandchildren, Kadeem Evans and Benjamin Harris, several great grands, a host of nieces, nephews, a very special thank you to Valley Green Health and Rehabilitation Center, Dwayne Leach, Deacon Noffie Salters and Deaconess Dorothy Salters and host of other relatives and friends.
