Ms. Laura Mae Logan, 88, of Lumberton passed away November 3, 2021.
Laura Mae Logan, was born Laura Mae Cherry to Lilly Mae Cherry and George Cooper on April 2, 1933 in Windsor, North Carolina. She passed away November 3, 2021.
At age 11 she moved to Baltimore, Maryland. She attended Dunbar High School. In her teen years she worked several odd jobs. In her early twenties she worked in the newborn nursery at John Hopkins Hospital. In 1952 she gave birth Joyce Selina Dent. She later married Ernest Logan. She attended Provident Hospitals LPN training. She went on to be an LPN at John’s Hopkins Hospital. In 1960 she gave birth to the late Darryl Emerson Logan. After several years she left John Hopkins Hospital and went to work at Social Security Administration where she retired at age 70. She had two grandchildren, Lamont Lynn Nicholson and Tonya Selena Nicholson. She also had eleven great grandchildren and one great great grand son.
