Ms. Josephine Jones

      Ms. Josephine Jones, 102 of Fairmont, NC departed this life on January 28, 2021. She was born in Marion County to the late Robert and Lizzie Jones.

     She had a passion for children, she raised and cared for lots of family and neighborhood children, even as she aged, she continued to raise and care for her grands and great grands, and yes she was blessed with great-great-grands.

     She lived a graceful life of 102 years with very little sickness. Mother Josephine Jones could tell many stories from the past to the present and, didn’t mind sharing her wisdom. She never met a stranger and, took everyone in as her own.

     She attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Marietta, NC until her health began to decline. She was happy to live a long life but, more excited to be with the Lord.

     She came from a large family of eight brothers and sisters who all preceded her in death, along with her son-in-law, James Moore.

     Ms. Jones, also known as Josie, leaves to cherish her fond and beautiful memories to three daughters, Patricia Moore, Flora Jones, and Irene (Marvin) Jones all of Fairmont, NC; three special nieces that she considered her daughters, Betty Wheeler, Louvenia Jones and Dorothy Ford, who was also her caregiver, Ms. Jones leaves six grandchildren, Dennis (Joyce), Patricia (Ricky), Ebony, Christopher (Lachardon), Derek, and Stanley, seventeen great-grandchildren, thirty-seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, and nephews.
