Ms. Gladys Mudd

     I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth, there is laid up for  me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day 2 Timothy 4-7

     Ms. Gladys Mudd was born on January 26, 1927 to the late Lawrence and John Ella McQuaige Mudd in Rowland NC. She entered into eternal rest from all her hard labor on Monday January 4, 2021 at the hour of 10:15 PM surrounded by her family. 93 years, 277 days old and full of wisdom and great family history has gone on to rest. She was her family historian.

     Gladys was preceded in death by four sons, (Jimmie, Bo, Allen, Jerry) one daughter, (Linda), one granddaughter, (Faith) and her little kitty, four brothers, (Amos, Charlie, Rob, Richard) five sisters, (Mary Bell, Charlotte, Catherine, Doretta and Dorethea).

     At an early age, she confessed Christ and joined Mt. Pelier Presbyterian Church. She moved away to Detroit and attended various churches. Upon moving back home she attended Christian Fellowship Church under the leadership of Rev. Isabella Alford, her cousin.

     Gladys attended School in Persimmons. She was a great cook and had a master green thumb at growing things. She loved her flowers and her gardening. She worked at GMC and as a nursing aide.

     Gladys leaves to cherish her fond memories, two daughters, Ruth Holloway and JoAnn (Harold) Hubbert of Detroit, twenty grandchildren, and numerous great grands and great great grandchildren, her only sister, Lucille Mudd Chandler of Rowland, NC and a special cousin, Geneva “Bee” Mudd Mcintosh of Lumberton, NC, a host of nieces, nephews and a special great, great, great nephew, Jeffery McKinnon.
