Crystal Linton (Age 60) affectionately known by friends and family as “Chrissy” of Charlotte NC quietly transitioned on Sunday evening, April 26, 2026.
Born February 21, 1966, Crystal was the cherished younger daughter to Hattie Lue Linton and the late Arrindell “Arnold” Linton. She was a devoted mother of an adoring son, Arrin Ky-Dey Linton (Charlotte NC) and the spirited junior sister to Ronda Vanessa Linton (Charlotte NC). Besides her son, mother, and sister, Crystal leaves behind caring aunties and uncles who she loved fiercely; cousins, nieces, and nephews who were sometimes recognized as her babies and other times recognized as brothers and sisters; and extended family and childhood friends, whom she treasured dearly.
Crystal received her education through New York City Public Schools and later completed her general education studies at Robeson County Community College in Lumberton NC. She went on to receive multiple vehicular driving certifications, which she applied to her dedicated years of service with Charlotte Mecklenburg School System as a bus driver to children with disabilities. Chrissy loved her work and the fulfilment brought by the children that she carefully transported like her own.
Beyond work life, “Crystal” was known for her caring, kindness, sass, and big heart. She would literally give you her last simply because she loved you. While “Chrissy” was known for her quick wit, fashionista NYC style, zest for life, and her Bajan (pronounced BAY-jun) souse, which she served up as passionately as her Northern, Southern, and Barbadian roots.
To know Crystal was to love her. She was the mother, daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin, and friend that showed up! She loved a good laugh, a warm hug, a great glass of wine, and small thoughtful gestures. And inasmuch as she was genuine about her connections with loved ones, she could find the simplest joys in fellowshipping on a girls trip to the beach, laughing under a tent at a family gathering, sharing precious moments with her sonshine Arrin, a casual visit with Sissy, or a Sunday phone call with Mommy.
Though Crystal’s earthly light may have dimmed on a Sunday afternoon, April 26th, her heavenly light now glows eternal. May her memory forever live on in our hearts.
