Ms. Catherine (Worley) Barr

    Mrs. Catherine W. Barr was born on June 2, 1931 to the late E.L. and Hester Jones. She departed this earthly life at her home on January 27, 2022 surrounded by family.

     She joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Marietta, NC at an early age, where she helped establish the L.C. Williams Youth Choir. She was a devoted member and faithfully served as a deaconess until her health failed. Her favorite song was “walk with me Lord.” Catherine was united in holy matrimony to the late Preston (Pete)  Barr. added to this union.

     She was preceded in death by one brother, James L. Jones and three sisters, Virginia Nealy, Betty Whitley, and Marie Thompson.

     She leaves to cherish her memories to her ten children, Preston (Mae Helen) of High Point, Rosa Thompson, James Barr, Rosemary (Willie) Santoyo, Jud (James) Campbell, Carolyn (Rogelio AKA Roy) Arroya all of Fairmont, Mary Bullard of Dillon, SC, Katie (Stephen) Edwards, Larry Barr, and Donnell (Rachel) Barr all of Fairmont, NC, twenty eight grandchildren, thirty plus great grandchildren, and also two sisters, Flora McInnis of Little Rock, SC and Ethel Mae McDowell of Elizabethtown, NC three special friends, Patricia Blue, Nanette Hayes, and Johnnie Johnson, a host of other relatives and friends
