Ms. Brenda Faye (Ellerby) Scott

     Ms. Brenda Faye Ellerby Scott was born at home in Rowland, NC on December 2, 1954 to Baphine Walters and the late Willie Walters and Eddie Ellerby. She peacefully and quietly departed this life on November 10, 2024, at the age of 69 years old.

     Brenda received her education from Fairmont High School in 1973. While attending Fairmont High, she was crowned Ms. FHS Sweetheart. Upon graduation, Brenda attended Robeson Technical Community College in Lumberton, NC. Later, Brenda worked as a seamstress at City Cleaners in Fairmont, NC. In her spare time, Brenda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and reading.

     Brenda was preceded in death by her fathers, Willie Walters and Eddie Ellerby; her brothers, Donald Walters, Scott Walters, Eddie Ellerby; her sisters, Peggy Walters, Vicky Walters, Connie Ellerby and Judy Ellerby; grandson, Ty’Reke Addison.

     She is survived by her son, Ronnie Alvin Scott Jr (Marie) of Lumberton, NC; her mother, Baphine Walters of Fairmont, NC, daughters, Tabatha Scott of Kathleen, GA; and Samantha Townsend of Lumberton, NC; six brothers, John Charles Ellerby, and Brian Walters (Carol) of Lumberton, NC; Willie James Walters of Eden, NC; Jerry Hugh Walters of High Point, NC; Edward Ellerby of Fairmont, NC and Kenneth Wayne Walters of Fayetteville, NC; five sisters, Mary Louise Walters McRae (Marvin), Pastor Sharon Ellerby and Rev. Vista Jones, Priscilla Ellerby all of Fairmont, NC; and Terry Sue Walters of High Point, NC; eight grandchildren, Ronnie Scott III, Marjani Moss, Dakari Moss, Samirah Townsend, Brea Horton, Kendan Horton, Deonte Scott, and Tyler Scott, six great-grandchildren, along with a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
