Ms. Brenda Dean Love

God, in His infinite love and mercy, called home our cherished Mother, Brenda Dean Love on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.  She was born on November 18, 1960, in Lumberton, NC, to the late Martha Ray Love.

Brenda attained her education and graduated from Lumberton Senior High School.   After high school she worked at Converse, then at Elkay in Warehouse Logistics for 30 years.  Later, she worked at Smithfield Packaging for a few years as well.  Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church in Lumberton, NC.  She was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and boundless love.  She devoted her life to her family, raising her children with unwavering care, wisdom, and grace. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love, a true reflection of her generous love for her community.

She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. Whether through her warm smile, her energetic spirit, or her delicious home-cooked meals, Brenda touched the lives of all who knew her.  Brenda’s legacy lives on through her children, Lonnie Brown (Quannah) of Greensboro, NC and Roshawn Brown (Leah) of Apex, NC; her cherished grandchildren (Elijah, Ella, and Nathaniel), who will carry forward the values she instilled in them: strength, resilience, and love.  She leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters, Jaqueline Love of Rincon ,GA and Wanda Harley of Winston-Salem, NC;  six brothers Dennis Love and Michael Love (Fiancé Tamiko Murphy) both of Lumberton, NC; Danny Love (Ruth) of Orrum, NC; Billy Love (Lakisha) of Charlotte, NC;  ; Thomas “Tuba” McMillian (Jan) of Little River, SC; Carlosia “Carl” McMillian (Cynthia) The Bronx, NY; Brian Keith McMillian (Nisa) of Winston-Salem, NC; two Uncles, Sam Love of Lumberton, NC and Buck Love of NY;  Aunt, Gwen McCollum Love of Fayetteville; and  two Honorary Sisters Mary Hawkins (Jerome) of Lumberton, NC and Eva Elaine Keel McMillian of Little River, SC.   She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: (Sharon, BJ, Keisha, Shanasia, and Lyfe), and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who proceeded her in death:  her brother Laverne “Lee” Love and Mother Martha Ray Love.   She is resting in the arms of the Lord she served so faithfully.
