Mrs. Shalondia Yvette Baker

It's with sadness and sorrow we officially announce the transition of Mrs. Shalondia Yvette Baker 52 of McDonough, GA. Mrs. Shalondia  transitioned from time to eternal rest on March 3, 2026.

Born on May 17, 1973, Shalondia Baker carried a certain grace from the very beginning. She attended Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Virginia, and was a woman of great ambition—from the modeling runway to her dedicated service as a CNA and Med Tech. But her greatest masterpiece was the family she built.

II. A Mother’s Tribute From the heart of her mother:

"On March 3, 2026, Shalondia Baker departed from this earth at 6 PM in Atlanta, Georgia. Shalondia was my only child. She was a cheerleader in middle school and began modeling in the eighth grade. She also loved helping people everywhere; I believe this is why she wanted to become a nurse and why she went to cosmetology school. She loved to do so many things because she loved life itself. She leaves her light behind in her three girls: Brittany Sumler, Alexius Sumler, and Bre’onna Bridges.

To my dear daughter, whom I love so dearly, Shalondia: I will never forget you. All of this happened so surprisingly; it hurt me to my heart. Right now, I am really lost for words, but I carry your love in every beat of my heart."

III. The Daughters’ Tribute

From the Oldest Daughter (Brittany):

"Mom did an amazing job raising us to the best of her ability. She made sure we were always taken care of and had everything we needed at all times. She carried herself with such class and made sure her girls were a representation of her. She was our shield—always protective of us and her grandkids. This shock is still unbelievable, but we know you are watching over us. We love you, Ma, and we’re waiting for that sign to know you’ve made it safely to the other side."

From the Second Daughter (Alexius):

"My mom was the best mother anyone could ask for. She always wanted us, and she made sure we knew it every single day. She built us up to be proud, confident, and educated. She made sure we were fed and, above all, loved. I promise to keep making you proud until we see each other again. I love you, Mom!"

From the Youngest Daughter (Bre’onna):

"Today I stand here to honor my mother—a woman who was so much more than just Mom. She was strength, grace, wisdom, and style all wrapped into one incredible woman. She taught me that being a woman means carrying yourself with confidence, even on the days when life feels heavy. She showed me that being a woman means knowing your worth. It means walking into a room with your head high. It means loving your family fiercely and never letting the world dull your sparkle. Because of her, I know what strength looks like. She taught me that being fabulous isn’t about perfection—it’s about resilience. It’s about getting back up, fixing your crown, and continuing forward with grace. Mom, thank you for showing me how to be a woman of strength, beauty, and heart. I will carry you with me always."

IV. Those Who Went Before

Shalondia was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rosa Lee Sumler; her aunt, Linda Ellis; and her uncle, Roma King. We take comfort knowing that she and her husband have entered eternal rest together, joined by those who paved the way.

V. Her Lasting Legacy

Shalondia leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Jackie Sumler, and her father, Joseph Wright. Her legacy continues through her three devoted daughters: Brittany, Alexius, and Bre’onna; and her five grandchildren: Damir, Damien, Damonie, Jacya, and granddaughter Luna.

She is also survived by her brothers: Anthony Sumler, Shawn King, and Jermaine King; her great aunt, Ada Mae Sumler; and her uncles: Andrew Sumler (Glaydis), Dennis King, Marshall King (Karen), Jerome King, and James King. Her memory will be honored by her sisters: Ella King, Debra Holloman (Joseph), Theresa Jones, and Ada Finney; along with a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.

VI. Scripture of Divine Protection (Psalm 121:7-8) "The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."

VII. Closing Shalondia was our style, our strength, and our heart. Rest in peace,Mom. We’ve got it from here.
