Phyllis A. Graham, 61, of Fairmont, NC passed away on August 14, 2021. She was born on December 27, 1959 in Jersey City New Jersey to the late Bathine Mitchell.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Cathleen Mitchell, her grandfather, David Mitchell, one uncle, Thurman Mitchell and Sara Mitchell.
She graduated from Fair Grove High School. She worked for many years at Kayser Roth Factory. She later joined the food service industry. She worked a number of years at Waffle House. She loved to work with and and around people. She loved to cook. If you came to her home, you know that you would leave full, from food and laughter. She wanted her home to be a place where people could gather and enjoy themselves. Even in the midst of her pain, she would always find a way to bring comfort to others that were in despair. It was her compassion, kindness and love that reached depths that no one else could match. That’s what made her special. That is what made us the women that we are. We thank you for that.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Graham, three daughters, Tochia Ayres (Gary) of Hope Mills, NC, Mekiela Barnes and Porcha Graham both of Lumberton, NC; an honary son, James Taylor of Fairmont, NC, five grandchildren, Gary Ayres and Mia Ayres both of Hope Mills, NC; Nevaeh Robles, Bracey Locklear and Elizabeth McDuffie all of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Shelva Mitchell of Lithonia Ga; Francine Mitchell of Lumber Bridge, NC, one nephew, Roy Montreal Mitchell of Lithonia, Ga, three aunts, Anna Greene of Fairmont, Angie Mitchell of Willingboro, NJ and Cathy Mitchell of Lumberton, two uncles, Leon Mitchell of Willingboro, NJ and John Michell of Greensboro, NC and a host of many family members and friends that loved her.
