Mrs. Patty Sue Ivey

    Patty Sue Ivey AKA Peggy was born on August 9, 1958, to the late Clem McNair and the late Ernestine Page in Lumberton, N.C.  Peggy passed away on September 12, 2024, at her home surrounded by family and friends.

    Peggy attended Rosenwald High School in Fairmont, N.C.  At an early age she accepted Christ and was baptized at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church.  She was a loyal and faithful member at Star of Bethlehem where she sung on the choir and was on the usher board.  She later changed her membership from the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church to Mill Branch Baptist Church where she attended and served until her health failed.  Peggy loved to help people in any way she could.  She had a big heart.

    In addition to her grandmother Ila McKellar Freeman, and parents Clem McNair and Ernestine Page, she was preceded in death by her brother George Page, her sisters Geraldine Page Butler, Sally Page, and Katherdra Page.

    Peggy is survived by her husband James Ivey of Rowland, NC, her two children Paul Ivey of Fairmont, NC, David Ivey of Lumberton, NC; four grandchildren Janiyah Ivey, Paul Evans Jr., Mariah Ivey, and Ny'Sean Ivey; two brothers Ernest Page and Sam McNair both of Fairmont, NC; two sisters Vivian Page and Amelia Mitchell both of Fairmont, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
