Mrs. Melissa Ugina Dortch

     Mrs. Melissa Dortch was born on February 1, 1976 in Lumberton, NC to the late Henry Davis Sr. and Helen Dinnerson Davis. In the early morning hours of September 18, 2021 God’s Angel entered Melissa’s room, and her soul took flight to eternal rest.

      Melissa graduated from Fairmont High School in June 1995. She was then united in Matrimony to Tyrone Dortch, and to this union they added two beautiful daughters, Tatyana and Destiny.

      Melissa was a faithful member of Mill Branch Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. J. G. Everette, where she served on the kitchen committee, youth ministry, dance ministry, and member of the unity choir.

      Melissa had a zest for life. She loved the Lord and her church family. She also loved to sing, dance, cook , and  taking care of Lamont (L.L.) McMillan.

      She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Davis Sr., mother-in-law, Shirley Dortch, and father-in-law, Dizzy Dean Lewis.

       She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Tyrone Dortch and two daughters, Tatyana Sharday’e and Destiny Johnday’e Dortch of the home, her loving mother, Helen Davis of the home, brother, Larry (Jackie) Davis Jr of Wilmington, NC, five aunts, Sara McLeod of Parkton, NC, Millie Davis of Fairmont, NC, Bettie Ellison of Fairmont, NC and Mary Ann (Otheo) Swain of Philadelphia, PA, one uncle, Gerothea (Brenda)     Dinnerson of Hope Mills, NC, two great uncles, Clyde (Joyce) Edwards and Cleotha (Sylvia) Dinnerson both of Fairmont, NC, two nephews, Aiden Dortch of Maxton, NC and Naden McCloud of New York, two sister-in-laws, Jacqueline Dortch and Connie Dortch both of Lumberton, NC, two brother-in-laws, Anthony Dortch, and Glenn Dortch (Shelia) of Lumberton, NC, one God daughter, Jalayer Pearson, three God sons, LJ who she always called Me Ma and Damian Pearson and Alfonso Pearson and a host of other relatives and friends.
