Mrs. Kimberly Lesane Ratliff

    Kimberly Shavell Lesane Ratliff, born on July 7, 1966, to the late Edward Lee Lesane and
Judith Faye Ward, passed away on October 22, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lewis and Lillian Savannah, her
paternal grandparents, David Earl and Annie Lesane, and her only son, Zachary Lamar
Ratliff.
     Kim embraced Christianity at a young age and frequently participated in fellowship
activities at McCormick Chapel AME Church.
     Kim graduated from Lumberton Senior High School in 1984 and earned a Bachelor of
Science in Psychology from Johnson C. Smith. She furthered her education at Webster
University, obtaining a Master's in Counseling and Health and Human Services.
Additionally, Kim was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
      Kim dedicated over 30 years of her career to the Department of Mental Health, providing
essential services to Cumberland and Wake County communities. After retirement, she took
on a part-time role at Johnson County Public Health. Throughout her professional journey,
     Kim became a strong advocate for underprivileged children who grew up in environments
affected by substance abuse.
     Kim was married to her high school sweetheart, Fredick Ratlif, for over 40 years.
     She leaves to cherish her memories: Her husband, Fredrick B. Ratliff, of the home; Step-Son,
Adonis Rozier, of Lumberton, NC; three sisters, Nankina: Lesane McDougald of Lumberton,
NC, Jamika Ward and Charrette Ezenwanne (Joe) of Fayetteville, NC. Two brothers: Edward Lesane Jr. (Queenie), of Knightdale, NC, and Robert Lewis of Lumberton, NC, Brother-in- Law: Reginald Rafliff of Tampa, Fla., Five Aunts: Vicki Deberry of Lumber Bridge, NC, Catherine Sinclair (Fred), Alice Gray, Rosa Smith, all of Lumberton, NC, and Mary
Campbell (Ronald), of Walterboro, SC, One Uncle: David Earl Lesane of Greenville, NC
Nieces: Ashley Blount, Bridget Blount, Jakima McDougald, Juadazia Bracey, Ella McBryde,
Taylor McRae(Kwamai), and Ella Kate Armwood-Washington Nephews: Terrence Walker
(Denisha), James Bracey, James McDougald, Tyrek Mitchell, Dr. Joe Ratliff (Doris), Bill
Armwood (Fran), Eric Armwood, Tyrone Armwood (Jackie), Kevin Armwood (Beverly), Keith Armwood (Chantal) and Micheal Powers God-Son; Ryan McBryde, Two special great-nephews, Kuran Gamble and Cayden Ray. Special friends: Lisa Mitchell Green, Deidre, Margret, Vanessa, Regian, Corlette, and many other cousins, relatives, and friends.
