Mrs. Joyce Ann Worley 73, of Brooklyn, NY passed away on April 2, 2025. She was born in Fairmont,
NC; and moved to New York as a teenager, where she later met her beloved husband, Harry
Jerome Worley. Together they cherished nearly fifty years of marriage and built a life filled with
friendship.
Joyce was a woman of quiet strength and vibrant personality. She was known for her kindness,
generosity, and the ability to make those around her feel safe and loved. Her deep empathy
and caring nature touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Joyce was passionate about her role as caseworker in New York, demonstrating unwavering
dedication. She often came in on her days off to ensure that families in her community received
the support and resources they needed her
She is preceded in death by her mother, Nora Fleming, her father, Codell Hawkins, her sister,
Mattie-Lu and her brother, Robert “Bobby” Hawkins.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Harry Worley, her brother, Claude Hawkins and his wife,
Euthalie Hawkins, her sister, Alice Smith and her husband, James Smith, her sister, Glenda
Taylor and her husband, Terry Taylor, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who
will miss her dearly.
