Janice Faye (French) Williams departed this life on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. She was affectionately known as “Candy”.
Janice Williams was born on July 3, 1956, to Mr. and Mrs. James Arthur and Mary Lousie French of Orrum, North Carolina. She was educated in the Robeson County School System where she graduated from Orrum High School in 1974. Upon graduation, she attended Winston Salem State University to pursue Early Childhood education.
After college, she worked as a clerk at BB&T bank for several years. She then served as the church secretary of First Baptist Church in Lumberton, North Carolina where she retired.
Janice joined First Baptist Church, March 18, 1984 in Lumberton, North Carolina were she served as a faithful member. She was known for her giving heart and excellent work ethic. She was the family and neighborhood cook, you always had a seat at her table. Janice would help anyone in need.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Mr and Mrs. James and Mary Louise French, Sr., two brothers: Artis French, Sr., Leon French, and two sisters: Mary Alice Minor and Bonnie Ann Townsend.
She leaves to mourn her memories, one loving and very devoted husband Ronald Williams; three sons: Kenyatta French of Wilmington, North Carolina, Craig French of Lumberton, North Carolina, and Christopher Williams of Lumberton, North Carolina; three sisters: Vera (Calvin) Bryant of Lumberton, North Carolina, Diane French Hall of Lumberton, North Carolina, and Betty (Shawn) Singletary of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two brothers: James (Myla) French Jr. of Las Vegas, and Dennis (Vickie) French of Lumberton, North Carolina; six sister in laws:Leontine Filmore of Bronx, New York, Jurah Willaims of Harlem, New York, Georgia Williams, and Jacqueline Williams also of Bronx, New York, Gloria Williams of Hope Mills, North Carolina, and Valerie Williams of Hiram, Georgia; three brother-in-laws: Bruce Williams of Hope Mills, Donald Williams of Hiram, Georgia, and Eugene Townsend of Wagram, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren: Breatta Stephens, Keyonta Blue, Malachi Cades, Kaliyah McNair, Malayla McNair, Christopher Kashir Ronald Williams, Josiah Williams, Nehemiah Chavis, Laith Williams, Te’Lecia Chavis and Xavier Williams; and one godchild: Raven Hill. She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
