Mrs. Effie Mae (McMillan) Haywood

     Mrs. Effie Mae McMillan Haywood daughter of the late Author McMillan and Mary Agnes Chamber
McMillan was born on August 12,1942 at Robeson County
Hospital. On Friday January 3, 2025 at 3:02 pm God came into Effie
hospital room at UNC Health Southeastern to tell her that her mansion
in heaven was ready to move in. And it was time for her to go. Then
he gently took her by the hand and welcomed her into her new
beautiful home.

     Effie graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Clarkton
N.C. She joined Round Branch Baptist Church and later over the
years she relocated to Straightway Holiness Church Of Deliverance in
Bladenboro N.C. Where she loved serving the Lord and telling the
people about Jesus. It didn't matter if you were young or old she
would tell you about the goodness of Jesus. She loved helping people.
If you were in need and she knew it, she would do all she could to
help you. It gave her joy giving and helping others. She loved
shopping at Wal-mart but her favorite store was Roses in Lumberton.
She would spend hours shopping, Then she would go to her favorite
place to eat at Pier 41 Seafood Restaurant and order her some fish
and hushpuppies.

   She was preceded in death by her son, Desmond Woodrow Singletary.
   She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her two daughters Ethel
C. Drew (Stancil) Marietta Barrett (Nehemiah) both of Bladenboro NC
9 step children Margie Phillips of Rocky Mount NC, Joyce Fobbes of
Maryland, Louis Jean Johnson of New York, Mary Hill of Maryland,
Willie Jean Haywood of New York, George Wiggins (Wendy) of Florida
Clifton Haywood Jr. (Ruth) of Chadbourn N.C Norvet Haywood of
California, Ricky Haywood of Maryland, 8 grandchildren, 26 step
grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, and
a host of other relatives.
