Mrs. Constance “Connie” Elenda Ghee Finkley (The Icee Lady) daughter of the late Mr. James Ghee and Louise Ghee McNair was born February 4th 1949 in Fairmont, NC. Connie departed this life on Monday June 27, 2022 at home in Fairmont, NC.
She attended Rosenwald High School in Fairmont, NC. She joined Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a faithful choir member and she loved helping people.
To forever cherish her memories are her husband, Mr. Larry C. Finkley of the home, two sons, Dr. William Ghee of Bowie, Maryland and Mr. Alvin P. Ghee of the home, Ms. Penny L. Finkley of the home, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Tammy Locklear of Fayetteville, NC, one niece, Mrs. Amelica Age of Wilmington, NC four grandsons, Mr. Michael R. Hickman III, Mr. Alshayquan L. Ghee, and Ty’shaun M. Ghee all of Fayetteville, NC and a special grandson, Mr. Richard McRae of Pembroke, NC, one sister, Mrs. Vivian Yates Crosby of Wilmington, NC one god daughter, Ms. Avary Carmichael of Charlotte, NC four sister-in-laws, Mrs. Delzora Manning, Mrs. Deborah Davis, Mrs. Joyce Shaw and Mrs. Pricilla Taylor all of Rocky Mount, NC, six brother-in-law's, Mr. Charles Finkley, Mr. Darrell Finkley, Mr. Joe Shaw, Mr. Eugene Taylor, Mr. Larry Davis all of Rocky Mount, NC and Mr. Anthony Finkley of Warrenton, NC, special friends, Mrs. Mary Jane Rogers, Evangelist Pat Baker, Mrs. Pattie Baldwin, and Mrs. Shaylonnieyeu Gordon, special adopted sons, Mr. Stafford Singleton, Mr. Isaiah Bowens and Rasheid Powell and a host of other relatives and friends.
