Mrs. Alice Earl Powell was born October 21,1936 in Robeson County to the late James and Clara Chavis. She transitioned on January 5, 2026.
She attended Rosenwald School until graduating. After that she attended Bennett College.
She later moved to New Haven, Connecticut for a few years. She was a homemaker. She later moved to Lumberton, North Carolina where she married the late William (Bill) Powell. After years, she moved to Greenbrier Retirement Center, where she stayed until God called her home.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, William Powell, her parents, James and Clara Chavis, her siblings, Penny Thorpe, Gloria Parkins, and Bobby Chavis.
She leaves to cherish her memories to three sons, Kenneth Butler, Dallas Butler, and William Powell Jr., one daughter Clara McKeithan, thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a beloved sister, Ms. Previla Chavis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed.
