Mr. Willie Lee Manning

Willie Lee Manning, better known as “Boy” by his family and EQ by friends was born on March 19, 1951 in Dillion, S.C. to the late Lonnie P. and Thelma B. Manning. He passed away March 4, 2018 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton, NC.

     He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted the Lord as his savior. Willie was a people person. He never met a stranger. He was always full of humor and loved race cars and fishing. He worked at West Point for five years. He was a caretaker for his grandmother-in-law, Daisy Gore and his mother, Thelma Manning.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie P. Manning and mother Thelma B. Manning, his grandparents, Malachi and Rosie Manning and Hampton and Sadie Bennett, his sisters, Amelia McCallum, Rosie McMillian, Wilhemia Jones, Margaret Page, Dorothy Johnson, Lorraine Lassiter, Violene Campbell and Daisy Manning, and his brother, Robert Manning.

     He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Marion B.    Manning, two daughters, Ursula Seidu, and Tashina (Roderick) McLaurin both of Lumberton, NC; four sons, Willie Parker of Lumberton, NC; Aaron L. Manning, Byron L.    Manning of the home, and Caleb McNeil of Lake View, SC; nine grandchildren, Shankiyla, Jasmine, Destiny, Amani,    Joshua, Jykease, Desmond, Jeralynn, and Kendra, three great-grandchildren, Arianna, Adorian, Justina, four sisters, Lois (Ricky) Baker, Bernice (Terry) Gilchrist, and Thelma Manning all of Fairmont, NC; and Minnie (Anthony) Perkins of Baltimore, MD; three brothers, Frazier (Nance) Manning, of Baltimore, MD; Raymond (Effie) Manning of Fairmont, NC; and Joseph (Wanda) Manning of Raleigh, NC; his mother-in-law, Dosha (Weldon) McLean of Fairmont, NC; two sister-in-laws, Tarry (Hebert) Johnson of Lumberton, NC; and Irish Floyd of Fairmont, NC; one brother-in-law, Joe (Jan) Clardy, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, and four special friends, Richard Blue, Edward Ellerby Jr, Anthony Grice, and Janet Bethea.
