Mr. William A. Campbell

Mr. William Andrew "Pop" Campbell Sr. 76 of 2490 Fire Tower Road, Orrum made his way to heaven on the morning of May 30,
2025.
William, the son of Douglas Andrew Campbell and Flossie Mae Campbell, was born on
August 15, 1948 in Orrum, North Carolina. He was a graduate of Proctorville High
School. William reconnected with the love of his life, Rosa Nealy, and together they
shared 28 years of marriage.
William was preceded in death by his parents; son, Barry Campbell; sister, Gloria
Govan; brother, Lester Campbell; goddaughter, Pamela Campbell; granddaughter,
Tatyana Campbell; grandson, Maurice Campbell.
William is survived by his wife, Rosa; his eight children, Sheila Sy, William Campbell, Jr.,
Andren Jones, Glenn (Virginia) Campbell, Sheila (Tyrone) Shuler, George “Butch”
Thompson, Tyrone (Susan) Campbell, and Aneisa Graham; special niece and nephew,
Shanell and Jamell Govan; goddaughter Helen Taylor; 23 grandchildren and numerous
great-grandchildren. He is further survived by Modestine Fulmore, who was like a
second mother to him, and special “siblings” Peggy Leonard, Joan Ellis, Ruth
Thompson, Debbie Lewis, Ernest Burnette, Kenneth Burnette, James Burnette, and
Beverly Campbell.
Lovingly referred to as “Pop” by family and friends alike, William wore his heart on his
sleeve and would give you the shirt off his back. Pop loved fishing, spending time with
his family, and working in his yard. He also enjoyed singing in the male, Y.D., and Orrum
choirs at Orrum Missionary Church. Furthermore, he served as trustee and usher for the
