Mr. Wallace Calvin Jones

     Mr. Wallace Calvin Jones, Sr., the son of the late James Author Jones and Lillian Grice Jones,
was born on November 3, 1952, in Fairmont, North Carolina. Wallace was called to his heavenly
home Monday, July 26, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.
Wallace attended Rosenwald School in his early years and in 1971 graduated from Fairmont
High School. After graduating high school, he enlisted into the Unites States Air Force, where he
served faithfully and retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. He later went on to
work as a correctional officer with the North Carolina Department of Corrections where he also
retired after 20 years of service. After retirement Wallace enjoyed fishing, walking, music,
church, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Wallace was a member of First
Baptist Church in Fairmont, North Carolina where he attended until his health declined. He was
also an active member of the American Legion, Post 548, of the Department of North Carolina.
      He was preceded in death by his sister Frances McQueen, and his brother McArthur Jones.
      Wallace leaves to cherish precious memories to; his wife Dottie Jones of home; one son, Wallace
Jones Jr. (Lisa) of Augusta, GA, two daughters; Lakeesha Jones of Lumberton, NC, and Latasha
Jones of Augusta, GA; four grandchildren, LaShay Crawford, of the home, Shataya Jones,
QuNashjia Battle, and Jaheem Jones all of Augusta, GA, one great-grandchild; Sarayah
Thompson of Augusta, GA, one sister; Barbara Jean Rogers (James) of Fairmont, NC, and one
brother; Thomas Jones (Sally) of Lumberton, NC, sister in laws; Betsy Jones, of Pembroke, NC,
Judy Fulmore, of Garner, NC, and Wanda Evans (Larry), of Lumberton, NC, one brother in
law; William Taft Stephens, of Fairmont, NC, four aunts; Mary Campbell, of Ft. Lauderdale,
FL, Jeanette Farrington, of Durham, NC, Dorothy Jamison and Betty Williams, of Fairmont,
NC, a special cousin Andrew “Shorty” Grice, special friend; Ronnie Jamison, of Charlotte, NC,
and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
