Robert Matthew McQueen, known to everyone as “Man”, was born Tuesday, January 16, 1973 to Luther Gene Baldwin and Alice Faye McEachern in Lumberton, NC. His earthly journey ended Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Marcia Maxey. Man attended the Public Schools of Robeson County. He became a Licensed Pressure Washer and operated his own business. Man also did seasonal work with Triangle Ice Company for two years. Robert McQueen became a member of Cromartie Temple of Praise on January 14, 2000 and served when and where he was needed. He was a member of the Usher Board and the Security Committee. The task that meant the most to him was when it was his Sunday to help receive the offering. Everything he did in the House of the Lord was done with the biggest smile and to the best of his ability. Robert was likeable and loveable. He loved his church and his Pastor, and he quickly learned the value of prayer. On many occasions he would come to the church during the day and ask for “a quick prayer”, and he would stop Pastor and Deacon Washington and request prayer, not only for himself, but for his friends on the Back Street. Family members left to cherish his fond memories are his companion for 25 years, Shanette Freeman of the home; his daughter Amira of New Jersey; his sisters, Missionary Felicia “Lisa” McRae (Kenneth) and Mary Maxey, both of Lumberton, NC; his aunt, Johnnie Mae Flowers of Lumberton, NC; his paternal grandmother, Pecolia Baldwin of Fairmont, NC; his niece, Shalayna Thompson (Maurice) of Tar Heel, NC; his nephews, Thomas Lee Lewis and Johnathan Lewis, both of Lumberton, NC; several greatnieces, great-nephews, many cousins, other relatives and numerous friends.
