Mr. Ralph Townsend

      Mr. Ralph Townsend son of the late John C. Townsend and Mannie Kelly Townsend was born December 17, 1951 and departed this earthly life January 24, 2022.

     On December 27, 1971 he was married to Cynthia Williams and a child was born of this marriage, Ralph Lamont Townsend. He joined First Baptist Church of Orrum and was a faithful member until moving to Lumberton, NC. He went to Proctorville Middle School and graduated from Orrum High School. He joined the army October 22, 1975 where he received the Marksman Badge for M16, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Armed Force Expeditionary Medal Korea. After a stay in the service he returned home and lived in Lumberton where he worked as a factory worker. Ralph loved people, his son, his family, and grandchildren. Him and Cynthia remained best friends until his passing.

     He was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Brown and one brother, John C. Townsend.

     He leaves to cherish his memories to his son, Ralph Lamont Townsend, his grandchildren Shakaren Ingram, Quantrius Townsend, Rasheed Smith Townsend, Quamek Townsend, Sariyah Townsend, and Kingston Townsend, three sisters, Diane Lewis (James), Rose Bethea (Clayton), and Mamie Stephens (Milton), four brother, Wilbert Townsend, Oliver Townsend, Andrew Townsend and Levester Townsend (Brenda), one uncle and very best friend, Linwood Kelly, and a host of other relatives and friends.
