Ponreece Demond Powers was born on January 11,1972 in Lumberton, NC; to Ms. Barbara
Powers and Mr. Jerry Pone Sr.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Robeson County, graduating from
Lumberton Sr. High School in 1990, as a student in high school he participated in the
Marching Pirate Band, JROTC and other extra curriculum activities. After graduation he
sought employment at various sites and was hire at Taco Bell, as a result of his work ethic as
team leader and well mannered behavior, he was promoted to manager. After leaving Taco
Bell, he enrolled in college at Purdue University later transferring to online classes at Kaplan
University, persevering through sickness and many obstacles, he received a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Psychology. His degree earned him a job at New Journey DWI Service as a
Life Coach, helping clients to navigate through their different challenges and reaching their
ultimate goals.
Ponreece was a very quite-mannered young man, but well known for his pleasing
personality and good advice to all who sought his expertise. He acquired many friends along
the way who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grand parents, Mr. James Powers Sr., and Mrs.
Lethia Powers; and his paternal grand parents, Mr. Viola Pone and Mrs. Georganna Pone.
He leaves to cherish his fond loving memories, one daughter, Fantasia Munn; mother,
Evangelist Barbara Powers; father, Mr. Jerry Pone Sr.; two grandchildren, Nevaeh Pipkins and
Dillan Munn; three brothers, Dante Powers, Jerry Pone Jr., and Jafar Pone; one aunt, Sister
Charlotte Troy; two uncles, Deacon Charles Troy and Mr. James A. Powers, a special cousin,Shawn Powers; three special friends, Cleaunis Little, Debbie Parnell and Ginger Stone, and
host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
