Mr. Phillip Carstuars Leonard known as “New Boy” of Fairmont, NC accepted his angelic wings on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. His transition was peaceful and pain free.
Phillip as he was affectionately called, was born on February 25, 1966 to Angenetta Leonard and James Leonard of Fairmont, NC. He grew up in Jonesville and graduated in 1985 from Fairmont High School and he attended several semesters at Elizabeth City State University. Phillip was employed at various manufacturing companies throughout Robeson County such as Smithfield Foods and U.S. Cold Storage.
Phillip loved his family and adored his daughters. He also enjoyed watching his favorite basketball team the Duke Blue Devils. He never met a stranger, the life of the party, and always had a listening ear.
He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Mary B. Floyd, Eldry & Rosetta Thompson, Harvey & Margaret Leonard Jr., Uncles Rev. Wendell Thompson, Eldry Thompson Jr., aunts Rita Powell, Joyce Leonard, Mayola Cain and one brother-in-law Anthony Blue.
Phillip leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, Angenetta & James Leonard of the home, Daughters, Ebonie (Earnest) & Amber Leonard both of Raleigh, NC and Ashia McQueen of Dillon, SC, His grandchildren, Jahleel Hunter, Lauren Reid, Ma’layah McQueen, Aria Lovick, and Earnest Reid IV., Sister Millicent Leonard of the home. Brothers, Antonio Leonard (Sheila) of Fairmont, NC and Johnny Leonard of the home.
A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends near and far.
