Phillip Levon Carpenter Jr , better known as Face, was born September 28, 1973 to Phillip Carpenter Sr. and Linda Hazley. He lived most of his life in Lumberton, NC where he attended Lumberton Sr. High School. During that time, he excelled as a football player and received many awards. Throughout the years, his love for the game never changed and could be shown through his loyalty to his Pittsburgh Steelers and to his sons whenever and wherever they played.
Phillip (Face) was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. His personality was shown best through his peculiar dance moves and his corny jokes which we all laughed at.
Phillip was preceded in death by his brother David Malachi Carpenter of Albermarle, NC.
He leaves to cherish his wife Tisa Carpenter, his sons Marcus Carpenter Sr (D’Naea), Kalvin Joel Carpenter, and Khalil Cooper (all of Lumberton), his daughters Tiah Cooper (Rashod) of Henderson, NC and Brianna Love of Miami, FL; 3 grandchildren: Prynce Love, Sincere Love, and Marcus Carpenter Jr.; his father Phillip Carpenter Sr. and step-mom Barbara Carpenter of Lumberton, NC and his mother Linda Hazley of Trenton, NJ ; 1 sister Tracee Snider (Angelo) of Simpsonville, SC, and 1 brother Bryan Carpenter of Lumberton. He also leaves us to cherish several brother in laws: Kenneth (Terri), Eric (Angela), Kevin, and Harold “Torey” ; sister in laws: Tanya, Taryn, Tracey (Jason), Twyla (Glenwood-“Jap”) , and Audrey-“Dana” (Derrick), and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends who loved him so.
