Mr. Morris Pittman was born in Marietta, North Carolina on January 3, 1950 to the late Elwell Pittman and Violet Townsend Pittman. He departed this earthly world on December 12, 2024, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elwell and Violet Pittman, brother Arlester Pittman, five sisters, Ida Lockhart, Christine Reed, Doris McNeil, Lucille Pittman and Margie Collins.
Morris was raised in Orrum, NC and attended the public schools of Robeson County. From there he pursued a career in the military as a fellow Marines. After being honorably discharged in 1975 he gained employment with Orrum High School and Danny Walters Farms for many years.
He was married to Gloria Jean Walters Pittman for 19 years until her untimely passing in November 1994. To this union came five children.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Donna Walters of Wendell, NC and Antoine (Tohrie) Pittman of Fayetteville, NC. Three sons, Reginald Walters of Fayetteville, NC, Jeffery Pittman of Wendell, NC and Sha-Ron Pittman of Knightdale, NC. Five sisters, Mary Worley of Orrum, NC, Ruth Love (Danny) of Orrum, NC, Peggy Lanier (John) of Hampton, GA, Jeanette Pittman of Glen Cove, NY and Janet Thompson of Charlotte, NC. Seven grandchildren: Eisha Brooks (Tommy) of Raleigh, NC, Kendrick Walters of Wendell, NC, Tyrin and Ky’Lek Stubbs of Fayetteville, NC, Jaden Pittman of Youngsville, NC, Christopher Walters of Fayetteville, NC and Jace Pittman of Knightdale, NC. Three great grandchildren Caiden and Morgan Brooks of Raleigh, NC and Kaylah Walters of Wendell, NC. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives to cherish his loving memories.
