Mr. Michael Burnard Stephens

      Mr. Michael Stephens, 64, of Lumberton passed away February 26, 2020. 

      Michael Burnard Stephens , was born on July 9, 1955 to Ernestine Stephens Green and the late Howard Stephens. He was the grandson of the late Simp and Jessie Stackhouse. The Lord whispered in his ears at 10:00 am February 26, 2020 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton, NC.

     Michael attended Rosenwald Elementary and Fairmont High School. He worked at Smith’s Refrigeration, York Roofing and Central & Worley Mortuary. He was a member of the Black Knight Motorcycle Club. Michael also was very active in supporting the community with special events. He was an active member at First Baptist Fairmont, until his health no longer would permit him to go.

     Michael leaves to cherish his fond memories, his wife of 40 years, Mrs. Janice Shaw Stephens, of the home, two sons, Michael (Teresa) Shaw and Alonzo Lloyd of Lumberton, NC; one daughter, Michelle McMillan of Lumberton, NC, six grandkids Rakeen, Lemar, Brandon, Nicole, Jasmine and    Ebony, two great grandkids, Josiah and Kashtyn, three sisters, Patricia (William ) Whitfield of Lumberton, NC, Ella (Andrew) Thompson of Archdale, NC and Adrian Green of Brooklyn, NY; four brothers, Dennis Stephens and Ronald Green of Brooklyn, NY; Gregory (Lisa) Green of New Jersey and Daniel Green of Florida; two uncles, four aunts, two sister-in-law's, Letha Hickman and Earline McLellan of Lumberton, NC; two brother-in-law's, Edmond Copeland and Tommy McLellan of Lumberton, NC; a special nephew, (AJ) Antwan Shaw, a special friend, Mr. Porter Liles, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
