Michael Wayne Cooper was born December 08, 1962, to the late Lue F. and; Shirley Cooper in
Lumberton, NC. He was raised in Lumberton NC and attended Lumberton Senior High School.
Upon graduating, he joined the Army in 1981 where he served for many years.
Michael (Mike) leaves us to cherish many fond memories from his love for dancing, his poetry,
his well-known debonair rap, and last but not least being dressed in suits daily. Over the years
his dapper and suave nature earned him the nick name Too Cool because he embodied style
and grace with ease.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife Brenda McRae Cooper; 4 siblings Calvin Cooper, Joel
Cooper, Felicia Cooper, & Travis Cooper.
He leaves to cherish 3 daughters, Candi Marshall of
Lumberton NC, Tamara Smith (Russell) of Hope Mills, NC and Meggan Cooper (Dantrell) of
Raeford, NC and one step-son Fretral McRae of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren: Kaidence,
Annias, Mason, Bryce, Tamiyah, Mikiyah, Avianna, Dequan, & Trenton; his aunts Doris Cooper
of Lumberton NC & Earline Stokes of Lancaster, CA and uncles Harry Cooper (Hattie-deceased)
& Samuel Cooper (Judy) both of Los Angeles, CA; his siblings Tanya Gavin (Jimmy – deceased),
Taryn McDougald (Phillip – deceased), Audrey Dempsey (Derrick) Twyla McIver (Glenwood),
Eric Cooper (Angela), Tisa Carpenter (Phillip), Tracey Suggs (Jason), Harold Cooper, Kevin
Cooper all of Lumberton NC, Kenneth Cooper (Terri) of Charlotte, NC, and Jeffery Cooper
(Marcene) of Atlanta, GA, 5 sisters in law, 7 brothers in law, and a host of nieces, nephews,
