Mr. Leon French

      Mr. Leon (Chinch) French was born on January 17, 1955 in Orrum, North Carolina, and departed his life on September 26, 2021 in Tampa, Florida. He was the fifth child of the late James and Mary French. Leon accepted Christ at an early age and joined First Orrum Missionary Baptist Church.

     Leon attended Orrum High School until 1974. He wanted to serve his country and joined The United States Army from 1974 until 1988.

     Leon was preceded in Death by his Parents and brother Artis French,(two) Sisters Mary Minor and Bonnie Townsend(one)Son Shawn Byrd.

     Leon is survived by his wife Essie Burnette French, (two) Sons Christopher of Yonkers, New York, Donovan L. French of Stockbridge, Georgia, Kiawatha E. French of Dallas Texas, Brittaney N. French of Macon, Georgia. (eight) Grandchildren, Jalen and Mae French of Stockbridge, Georgia, Triston Futrell of Dallas, Texas, Khylin and Skylar French of Macon, Georgia and Brianna, Will and Jack Byrd of Lumberton, NC. (one) Great-Grandchild Noah French of Stockbridge, Georgia (Four) Sisters Vera Bryant(Calvin of Lumberton, NC, Janice Williams (Ronald) of Lumberton, NC, Diana French Hall of Lumberton, NC, Betty Singletary of Fayetteville, NC(two) Brothers James A. French Jr.(Myla) of Los Angeles, California, Dennis French (Vickie) of Lumberton, NC, (one Uncle) John D. Mitchell of Orange Park, Florida (one Aunt) Reva Branchcomb of Richmond, Va. a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
