Jonathan Lynn McCollum, known to many as “JonnyBoBo”, was born December 4, 1983, in Lumberton NC to Rose Mary Jenkins and James Linwood McCollum. Jonathan departed his earthly life on June 29, 2025, at UNC Health Southeastern leaving behind unforgettable memories, lots of love and laughter.
Jonathan graduated from Fairmont High School in 2003 and later joined the US Navy. Jonathan was employed at Quickie Manufacturing where his work family became his real family.
Jonathan was raised in Fairmont and was affectionately loved by his community and everyone that knew him. Jonathan had a laugh that was contagious and was not a stranger to anyone that he encountered. If you needed to find Jonathan everyone knew to find him on the game and if he went missing, he was probably asleep…one of the things that he done best.
Jonathan is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ethel Jenkins and Willie Jenkins, maternal aunt Wilhelmenia Neal, his paternal grandparents Janie McCollum and John McCollum, paternal aunt Queen Elizabeth Smith and Pamela Marie McCollum, and paternal uncle Richard McCollum.
He will be deeply missed and leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Rose Mary Jenkins of Lumberton NC, his father, James Linwood McCollum of Orrum, two daughters, Alina Ariaana McCollum of Lumberton NC and Azari Saline McCollum of Parkton, one son, Jacob Isaiah McCollum, two sisters, Malona Demonica Davis (Rochade) of Orrum NC, Latoya Sheree McCollum of Lumberton, four nieces Shekinah Lennon, Aziyah Smith, Orlandria Lennon, Kamiyah Foster, one nephew De’Shawn Fields, two great nieces Armoni Fields, Remedi Fields, one great nephew De’Moni Fields, a special friend, Cassandra Ann Jones, one special brother, Timothy Moore, so many brothers from another mother, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
