John Wayne Thompson, the son of the late John Archie and Doreatha Thompson was born December, 13, 1948 in Fairmont, NC. John passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 surrounded by family.
He attended the Public Schools of Robeson County.
John later met and married Lela McCrae, who precedes him in death and to this union they were blessed with Kimberley and Tanya.
John worked for West Point Pepperell for many years until he retired. He loved being amongst family and friends laughing and having a good time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, the late John Archie and Doreatha Thompson, two brothers Ed Thompson and Levine Thompson, maternal grandmother, Mary Frances Brown, Maternal Great Grandfather, Ed Smith, Paternal Grandparents Frank and Hattie Thompson, two nephews Christopher Bowden, and Daniel Thompson.
John leaves to cherish his fond memories, three daughters, Felicia Jacques(Patrick) of Fayetteville, NC, Kimberley Simms(Charlie) of Tarboro, NC, and Tanya McCray of Rocky Mount, NC, nine grandchildren, Saquaia Morrison, Amber Pinkney, Isaiah Jacques, Renee Jacques, Demetrius Thompson(Topez), Shakira Green, Deandre McCray, Jarrod Bryant, and Janiah Ivey, Five Great-Grands, Heavyn Epps, Kai Thompson, Karlie Batchelor, Za'Miyah Coleman, and Za'Monie Coleman, two sisters Vera Wayne Thompson Bowden (Herman) of Lumberton, NC and Vera Lee "Vivian" Thompson of Fairmont, NC, one sisters-in-law, Angelon Thompson of Fairmont, NC, two special aunts, Girtrude Gibson of Staten Island, NY, and Annie Brown of Brooklyn, NY, two special nieces Buniekia Thompson-Lee, and Ivy Thompson both of Fairmont, NC and two special nephews Dennis Jones and Donathan Lee both of Fairmont, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.
