Mr. Jessie B. Phillips 90 of Fairmont transitioned from time to eternity on March 31, 2018 at his residence.
Jessie B. Phillips was born on September 2nd, 1927. He was the 13th child of 16 children born to Spencer and Barbara Phillips.
He served in United States Navy World War Il from October 1944 to June 1946 as Seaman second class with an Honorable Discharge.
He was born in Argo, Illinois and throughout his life he was blessed to travel, own houses and live many places -California, New York, North Carolina, Las Vegas, Arkansas to name a few.
He wasn't a stranger to anyone that he met in his lifetime. He had various jobs in his youth from factories to laundry business. He was a gardener, fisherman, and had a great sense of humor. He was a handyman: He refurbished used items for resale and was profitable doing it.
He accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and honored his wife, Mildred Phillips (rip) the way Christ loves the church unconditionally as he cared for her through good health and sickness.
He leaves to celebrate his life and memories: one daughter, Coretta Watkins NC, four grandchildren, Khalisha, Kionna, Doniesha, Joshua Watkins. eight great grandchildren, one living sister, Jaunita Phillips Griffeth of Illinois, David Phillips NC, Grandson, Steven who embraced his heart, his niece, Esther whom he cherished and a host of other relatives and friends.
