Mr. Javance Sinclair

     Javance Sinclair was born in Robeson County, North Carolina, on June 1, 1944, to the late Sam and
Bertha Sinclair. Javance transitioned to be with the Lord on Monday, August 25, 2025. Javance accepted
Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church. He was an instrumental part
of the church’s Usher Ministry for many years.

     Javance graduated from East Side High School. On July 26, 1966, Javance answered the call to serve his
country by enlisting in the United States Army. He served with honor and courage as a Combat
Construction Specialist, demonstrating steadfast dedication on the battlefield. Following his honorable
discharge, he continued his commitment to service through the Army National Guard. As a proud
Vietnam-era veteran, Javance was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal,
and the National Defense Service Medal in recognition of his faithful service to his nation.
Javance was united in matrimony to Erma Linda Rozier. To this union, Javance Sinclair II was born.
These two were his pride and joy. Javance was a loving, caring, and giving person to his wife and son.
Javance was known as a hard worker and was always willing to lend a hand to his family, friends, and
neighbors.
After his faithful service to his nation, Javance furthered his education by obtaining certifications in
various sectors, including mechanics and welding. For decades, he dedicated himself to his work at
Burlington Mills, where his strong work ethic and steady presence earned him the respect of his
coworkers. Yet, it was outside of the factory walls where his heart truly found joy.
He loved working with his hands, whether tending to his farm, fixing equipment, or nurturing the land
he cherished. Farming wasn’t just a pastime for him; it was a way of life that connected him to the earth
and to the values of patience, persistence, and care. Those who knew him will remember not only his
tireless dedication to providing for his family but also the peace and pride he found in watching things
grow from the ground up. Lastly, he was known for being quiet, yet full of wisdom.
     In addition to his parents, Javance was preceded in death by his devoted wife; Erma Linda Sinclair,
siblings; Sammy Sinclair Jr., James Sinclair, James Willie Spearman, Lillie Mae Dunham, Chestina Blue,
Mable McEachern, Minnie Fennell, and Preston Sinclair.
     He is survived by his loving son, Javance Sinclair II; his grand dog, Beamer; special sons, Dimitric “Shea”
(Tara) Rozier and Diabaté Roberts; and special daughters, Ermelle Rozier, Nancy Sinclair, and Selena
Streeter. He is also survived by three brothers: Peter (Barbara) Sinclair of New York, Fred Sinclair, and
Lukie (Sandra) Sinclair, all of Saint Pauls, NC; and two sisters: Shirley Terry of Gray’s Creek, NC, and Mary
Sinclair of Saint Pauls, NC; and sister-in-law, Mary Sinclair, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews,
family and friends.
