Jamie Lenson Smith, son of the late Marshall James Smith and Melvin Linda Gerald Smith, was born on December 24, 1977. He peacefully departed this earthly life on Monday, June 9, 2025.
At an early age, Jamie accepted Christ and joined Pleasant View Baptist Church. He generously shared his singing talent with the Inspirational Gospel Choir.
Jamie received his education through the Robeson County Public School System and attended St. Pauls High School. He had a deep love for his football team an equally strong passion for fishing. When it came to football, Jamie often said he loved the way the crowd encouraged him and his teammates. And if you knew Jamie, you knew fishing was his true love. His “Happy Place.” He found peace and quiet by the water and often described it as his personal time to talk to God.
Jamie loved his family deeply. He often reminisced about the special holiday and family gatherings at 514, Grandma Glady’s house. He would say, “Family is Family. I love my peeps no matter what.” To all his family please know he truly loved each and every one of you.
Jamie leaves behind cherished memories with two brothers, Dwight (Lisa) Smith of Boston, MA; and Michael (Patricia) Smith of Savannah, GA; one sister, Crystal (Anthony) Floyd of Raeford, NC; two nieces, Takeisha Smith of St. Pauls, NC; and Brianna Smith of Boston, MA; three nephews, Anthony “AJ” Floyd and Christian “CJ” Floyd, both of Raeford, NC; and Michael “Lil Mike” Reed of Savannah, GA; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
A special thank you to Anthony and Sharon Gerald. Anthony, thank you for being there for Jamie throughout his journey in life. He always looked up to you like a brother. Sharon, thank you for being there in his time of need. God doesn’t make no mistakes. You were at the right place at the right time. We are forever grateful for the love and support you gave.
