Mr. James Anthony Pipkins “Bro” entered this world on January 28,
1969 and departed this earthly life on July 25, 2023. He was the son of the
late Mary Jane Thompson and the late James Pipkins.
James attended the Public Schools of Robeson County where he was a part of
Lumberton Senior High School’s graduating class of 1987. He furthered his
education at Fayetteville State University where he majored in Criminal
Justice.
Mr. James held various jobs such at Lumberton Prison Camp, Evergreen
Rehabilitation, Chef Seafood, City of Lumberton Public Works and most of
all, Village Inn Seafood.
He was very athletic where he played basketball and participated in track and
field. Alongside his many great talents, he had a love for football where he
served as senior captain at Lumberton Senior High School.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Thompson; father,
James Pipkins; maternal grandmother, Betsy Thompson; maternal grandfather,
Sherman Thompson, paternal grandmother, Carrie Freeman, paternal
grandfather, Fred Pipkins and the love of his life, Tammy D. McRae.
He leaves his most precious and fondest memories to his two daughters, Jocelyn
McRae, DeAsia (Colby) French, both of Lumberton, NC; four sisters, Beverly
Singletary, Wilmington, DE, Angela (James) Jones, Parkton, NC, Vaden
(Rick) Little, Greensboro, NC and Stethane Pipkins, Lumberton, NC; three
brothers, Antonio (Crystal) Thompson, Charleston, SC, Tito (Malinda)
Nealey, Lumberton, NC and Fred Nealey, Proctorville, NC; two uncles,
Sherman (Flora) Thompson Jr, Baltimore, MD, David (Lena) Thompson,
Lumberton, NC, one aunt, Corrine Thomas, Lumberton, NC; seven
grandchildren, Jatrell, Simia, Simari, Nikaylee, Garrius, Ga’ron and Kinston;
one godson, Kevin Adams; Special Best Friend, Brenda Douglas; close friend,
Jackie Riddick and a host of other relatives and friends.
