James Evans Pierce Jr, son of the late James Evans Pierce Sr and the late Betty Ann Pierce was born on March 9, 1966, in Columbus County, NC and entered into His Heavenly Kingdom on February 8, 2025, after an extended battle with cancer. James was a loving husband, father, brother and papa.
James attended Lumberton Senior High and was an avid basketball player as well as an amazing dancer. He took pride in his dressing attire and was big on watching his sports teams play. He was a die-hard Tarheel, Chicago Bulls and New England Patriots fan. More than anything he enjoyed his time with his family.
During his journey here on this earthly world he secured jobs at Jensen, Converse, Carolina Foods, Consolidated Container Company, South Atlantic and Two Men And A Truck. He was no stranger to hard work, before his diagnosis in 2020.
James was preceded in death by his sister Ethel Lois Pierce and his two sons, James Evans Pierce III and Richard Jermaine Pierce and a daughter, Aleshia Ann Thompson
James leaves to cherish his Beloved wife of 40 years Melinda Pierce; Four Daughters: Valarie Braswell (Lathan) of Burlington, Noelle Wright (Gene) of Brown Summit, Lindella Pierce (Daniel) of Greensboro, Octavia Pierce of Greensboro; Three Sons: Anthony Pierce (Keshia) of Greensboro, Micheal Pierce of Greensboro, Isiah Pierce of Greensboro. Eighteen grandchildren a brother Micheal Pierce of Greensboro and a sister Lorraine Pierce of Burlington a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close family and friends.
