Mr. James Edward Fields

     James Edward Fields, also known to many as "Pete", was born on January 4, 1952, in
Dillon SC to the late James Fields and Christine Jenkins- Fields. He departed his life on
August 25, 2023.

     James attended the public schools of Robeson County and Fairmont High School.
From there he enlisted in the 65th MP Company of the United States Army as an Armorer
Sup Specialist. James completed 2 years of service and was relieved from duty as an
Honorable discharge. After he served in the Armed Services, he began work at Alamac
Knit Mill and OuterBanks Distribution until the companies closed.

     Although James, was a hardworking man he also took time to enjoy the simple things
in life such as singing and playing his guitar. James was asked to sing on different
occasions, at many churches, until his health failed him. Even this didn't keep him away
from his love of music and playing his guitar.

     James was preceded in death by his only sister, Eloise Thompson.

     James leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Sarah Fields; three daughters, Ann
(Joe) Baldwin of Gastonia NC, Benita Fields of Charlotte NC, and Romania Fields of Dillon
SC; two sons, Edward Shipman of Greensboro NC, and Justin Fields (Miranda) of Dillon
SC; five brothers, Otis (Beverly) Fields of Selma NC, Wilbert Ray Fields of Winston Salem
NC, Raymond Joe (Louvenia) Fields of Mount Airy NC, La Rue (Tammy) Fields of Winston
Salem NC, and Willie Lee Fields of Mount Airy NC; 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-
grandson; one surviving aunt Ernestine Lewis, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
