Mr. James Luther Douglas Sr., was born on October 13, 1957 to Nathaniel Douglas and Laura Douglas Freeman. He was known to his family and friends as “Mandy” His earthly journey ended Friday September 3, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.
He was the oldest of nine children born in Rowland, NC. He was educated in the Public Schools of Newark and New Jersey.
He work with the sanitation Dept. of New Jersey for Nineteen years an also learned the trade of Butcher for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Douglas, his maternal grandmother, mother Mary Bell Thomas and paternal grandmother, Mother, Mamie Douglas.
He was a loving and a very kind hearted person full of laughter and joy, always kept something going on, you could always tell when he was around.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, three children, James L. Douglas, Shavell Douglas and Alona Douglas all of Newark, NJ, his mother, Prophetess Laura B. Freeman of Lumberton, NC; eight brothers, Nathaniel (Millicent) Douglas of Lumberton, NC Nathon Douglas of East Orange, NJ Terry Douglas (Keisha) of Rathway, NJ, Adrian Douglas of Woodbridge NJ, Timmy Douglas of West Orange, NJ, Anthony of New York, NY, Julius Hinson and Amar Johnson of Newark, NJ, three sisters, Brenda Stephens, of Lumberton, NC, and Priscilla and Lisa Hinson of Rockingham, NC and a host of nieces , nephews, relatives and friends a special friend, Ms. Nekelia Ford
