Mr. Issac H. Holland departed this earthly life and entered the waiting arms of our Heavenly Father on January 28, 2025.
Issac was born January 23, 1935 in Marion Station M.D. to the late Isaac Sr. and Blanche Holland. He was affectionately known as “Sonny Boy”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernetta and Lovonia and his first wife, Velma.
He received his formal education in the Somerset County School System and graduated from Charter G. Woodson High School in 1955. Issac received his religious education at Mt. Peer United Methodist Church at an early age, and remained faithful to God throughout his life.
After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served his country for two years. After an honorable discharge he moved to Philadelphia, PA; where he worked at a window installation company. He later worked as a long shoreman at the Philadelphia waterfront until his retirement.
Issac and now deceased wife Velma were married for 42 years and from that union one son was born, Gerald Holland, and Darryl who was raised as their son.
He relocated to Evergreen, N.C. with his former wife Velma at his retirement. He continued his love and service to God by joining Mt. Horeb A.M.E. Church where he remained a faithful member and contributor until his death. He served as steward, member of the finance committee and choir member. Anything needed or needed to be done, God’s humble servant, “Issac” accomplished quietly and without accolades.
He later met and married the love of his life Betty whom he referred to as “my love.”
He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife Betty, his sons, Gerald Holland (Kelly), and Darryl, three daughters, Cheryl Parker Meryl Parker and Marcella Parker, three grandchildren, Shaneucua Webster, Derek Parker Bria Jones, many nieces, and nephews and other relatives, along with special church family members, Demetrius, Harry, Clifton, Debra, and Lisa. He was loved and cherished by many friends
