Mr. Harry Kenneth Roberts, the son of the late Mr. Solomon and Juanita Jones was born on July 31, 1946 in Lake View, SC. On January 31, 2020 he departed this life at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC. Harry moved to New Haven, CT in 1963 following his graduation from Rosenwald High School in Fairmont, NC. While living in New Haven he worked at Winchester Plant. Harry was drafted into the US Army in 1965. He served as a member of the 11th Armor Calvary Regiment. Harry served one tour in Vietnam, where among his many duties he worked in food serving with honor for two years. He was awarded with an honorable discharge. Harry returned to Marietta in the early 1970’s. He was then employed at Converse in Lumberton, NC. He joined Turner Station at an early age. Later on in life he met and married Connie Roberts. He was a faithful worker at Turner Station. He was part of the culinary department, the usher board, and the male chorus. He was also part of the Robeson County Big Six.
He was proceeded in death by, his father, Solomon Jones and mother, Juanita Jones, his wife, Connie Roberts, two brothers, Tommy and Roger Jones and one sister, Vickie Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Robin Ellerby and Deidre Roberts both of the home, one son, Antron Roberts, a special daughter, Julia Ellerby whom he raised, eight grandchildren, Shanice, Allen, Zamaria, Shalyriah, Shamad, Ja’Conye, Brandon and Tashon, one great grandchild, Brandon Jr., three god children, Shaquelle, Tieshia and Demaya, two brothers, Steven Jones of Shelton, CT, and Bobby Jones of Fayetteville, NC; one sister, Rita Jones of Fayetteville, NC two brother-in-law's, Edward and John Charles Ellerby, five sister-in-laws, Coral, Sharon, Vista, Priscilla and Brenda, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
