Floyd Damon Jr. was born on October 9, 1947 in Timmonsville, SC to the late Floyd Daman Sr. and late Annie Bell Ham. He passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday March 11, 2018 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton, NC.
Floyd graduated from South Fallsburg, High School in New York. After graduation he went into the Army. He served two years in Vietnam and returned home a decorated soldier. He received numerous awards, including, A Republic Of Vietnam Campaign Metal, Combac Infantry Man Badge, Vietnam Service Metal with four bronze Stars, National Defense Service Metal and Purple Heart.
Floyd Damon Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Flody Damon Sr. and Annie Bell Ham and his daughter, Jenae Damon and sister, Annie Lee.
He leaves to cherish his legacy and memories his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Jenny Carr Damon of the home, one daughter, Shavon Lee Damon of Philladelphia; two granddaughters, Ny’Asis Gardiner, Nyla Damon of Philadelphia; two nephews he raised Jermaine and Justin Knight of the home, one brother Larry Damon (Anita) of Timmonsville, SC and three sisters, Erenestine of Woodridge, NY; Modestine Johnson (Bro) of Alabama and Delores Damon of Greenbelk, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
