Mr. Eric Stevens Tribute

It's with sadness and sorrow we officially announce the passing of Mr. Eric Lee Stevens. Mr. Eric 60 of Lumberton transitioned from time to eternal rest on September 16, 2025. 

Eric Lee Stevens humbly graced this earth on October 16, 1964, in Lumberton, North Carolina, born to the late Amanda Stevens and Nathan Stevens. He fully surrendered to God’s will and departed this earthly life on September 16, 2025.

Eric was a loving and caring person who deeply cherished his family and friends. Affectionately known as “Eggo” by many in the community and surrounding areas of Lumberton, he will be genuinely missed. Eric had a passion for family gatherings and fellowship. He was known as the "Master Griller." People often raved about his delicious BBQ ribs.

He graduated from Lumberton Senior High School and was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Lumberton. Eric loved the Lord and enjoyed uplifting services, especially those filled with joyous music.

He was preceded in death by his aunts, Margaret McLean and Mamie Robinson; his uncles, Sam, Richard, and Hubert Robinson; his brother Edward Williams and cousins, James “Big Jim” McLean, Freddie McLean, and Pete; and two great-aunts who helped raise him, Geneva Williams and Odelia Kingwood.

Eric leaves to cherish his memory: His sisters, Myra Miller of Raleigh, NC; Verondia Tyndall (Eulysee) of Lumberton, NC; Bernice Williams of Salisbury, NC; and Elder Iris Hocutt (Thomas) of Kenly, NC. His Brother: Heath Stevens of Lumberton, NC, and his stepsisters: Carolyn Jones of Wilmington, NC; Sherry Williams of Smithfield, NC; and Brenda Nichols of Kenly, NC. His nieces and nephews: Contraze Miller (Tameca), Dr. Nikki Miller, Tamika Daniels, Tiffany Spencer (David), Tamika McLean (Victor), Jayla Perkins (Adam),  Kiara Hocutt, Erica Williams, Perry Blue Jr., Russell Williams, Rodney Baldwin, Kierra McCallum (Ray), Contraze Walters, Jireh McCallum,  Zachary Hocutt (Tamala) and Donnie Williams Jr.

He is also survived by: Harold Robinson (Annie) of Red Springs, NC; Sam McLean, Sarah McLean; Sammy P, James (Felix); & Dilthra Robinson; of Raleigh NC;  Derevana Leach, of Raleigh NC; Waynetta Robinson & Matilda Cooper (Chris) of Lumberton;  Frederick, Anissa, Janet, & Aubrey Johnson of Lumberton, NC;  honorary grandchildren, Jayla, Jayden, and Treasure; great- and great-great-nieces and nephews: Daveah, David Jr., Amiyah, Journi, Kaeson, Nyasia, Ahmirah, Ava’Riin, Choszen, Ayden, Pariss, Oaklynn, Arabella, Kingston, Naomi, Nilah, Todd, Claudia, Niyin, Zaylen, Kingston, and Shavauyn.  Special friends dear to him include Loretta Thompson, Lisa Troy, Dana Johnson, and Lisa McComb.

Eric continued to give even after transitioning; he was an organ donor - Miracles In Sight.
