Mr. David Barber Tribute

David Preston Barber was born on October 3, 1971, to the late Rachel C. Barber. He peacefully entered eternal rest on March 10, 2026, at his home.

David received his education in Fairmont, North Carolina, where he attended Fairmont High School. From an early age, he developed a love for sports and proudly played both football and basketball during his high school years.

At the age of 17, David made the honorable decision to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He served faithfully for eight years. Following his military service, David pursued a career as a truck driver, a profession he truly enjoyed.

In his leisure time, David found joy in fishing and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He will be remembered for his love of family, his strong work ethic, and the simple pleasures that brought him happiness.

David leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Quida Harris Barber; his children: Shamirakle B. Barber of Clarksville, Tennessee; Madison O. Barber, Madalyn G. Barber, Meredith E. Barber, and Malachi Davis, all of Sikeston, Missouri. He is also survived by his siblings: Pamela Barber of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Tiffany Barber-Caleb of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Lorenzo Currie of Fairmont, North Carolina. He leaves behind three beloved grandsons: Myles P. Barber, Messiah L. Barber, and Ladrell S. Carthell, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
